Kourtni Mason is an attorney with an unwavering passion for the arts. She has a lengthy dance history that spans over 20 years in the performing arts arena. Prior to her legal career, Kourtni danced with the Grambling State University Orchesis and professionally with the Atlanta Hawks Dance Team. She has appeared as a dancer in motion pictures, such as The Great Debaters, performed in the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show starring Beyonce, and taught dance to elementary and middle school students. Kourtni currently serves as a lead choreographer for the All-Star Dance and Cheer Camp.

After noticing an absence of diverse children’s books, specifically books related to African-American dancers, she was inspired to create a book that not only promotes dance, but also encourages young girls to embrace their individuality.

Kourtni lives in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she works as a defense attorney.
